Silk is a native of Canada. academic. She was raised in Fredericton. Ilkay Silk is the child of Peter Silk, who is an academic as well as Anna Silk who is an actor, director, producer, playwright. Anna is able to recall some of her first memories when she was a kid, such as being a spectator at play rehearsals. Silk created a variety of commercials while she was still a kid. She graduated from St. Thomas University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas staged two plays in the early years: Seven Menus & The Kitchen. Silk moved to Toronto to pursue her acting profession in November 1999. She then, over the next decade, she moved in the following decade to Los Angeles, California. She met her future husband, Seth Cooperman, at an acting training held in Los Angeles, in 2007. They were married civilly in December 2009. The couple reaffirmed their vows on April 10, 2011, in Fredericton during the context of a Jewish ceremony after becoming an observant Jew.
